I love leveraging my skills to create experiences that truly resonate with users.
I'm the former Creative Director at Hideaway Report, a luxury travel publication, where I led a team of designers that produced all of the editorial and marketing content for the company.
While working at the Hideaway Report, I traveled the globe, shot video and wrote dozens of travel articles. I also helped articulate and implement the content strategy for the company.
Shout Science! is a comic storybook app for young readers about scientists and scientific discovery. I did most of the writing, illustration, sound, animation and code myself. The app was featured in iTunes and downloaded over 160,000 times wordwide.
I'm the former Technical Director at the Khabele School, a progressive IB and Montessori school here in Austin. I also developed the school's outdoor education curriculum and school garden.
In 2006 I worked as the web-master/art director for the madcap campaign that got Kinky Friedman on the ballot for Texas Governor. I also photographed a number of campaign rallies, coordinated content for the website and created marketing materials.
I created the Instagram account @atxwildlife to have an outlet for my passion for wildlife. Since then I've expanded my evangelism by creating the website Wild Texas History.
I have decades of experience as a designer, but now my day to day involves managing a team of content designers, front-end devs and photo editors. I excel at finding ways to give them constructive feedback to get their best work and am always calm under pressure.
I have been a key member of content strategy teams involved in story ideation, scheduling and coordination. I can also put strategy into action and have led teams to create hundreds of articles per year for multiple high-traffic websites.
I understand content marketing, lead nurturing and always rely on data to back up my decisions. I have overseen large social media accounts and have experience developing content oriented email and PPC campaigns.
