I've spent more than a decade writing and shooting travel stories. As Creative Director at Hideaway Report I was part of the content strategy team and wrote over 40 travel articles for print and web, specializing in the outdoors and traveling on safari twice for work — my wife and I shot and edited almost all of the photos ourselves. More recently, I write for Texas Highways, the official travel magazine of Texas. You can also browse a fuller selection of my photography.
I write freelance features for Texas Highways, focused on getaways and the outdoors across the state. A few recent stories, free to read:
At the Hideaway Report I wrote more than 40 feature articles. Most sit behind the member paywall or have since gone offline — but here's one of my favorites: a print-newsletter feature on Japan's onsen ryokan. I traveled as an undercover editor, writing the story and shooting the video on small handheld cameras, so the piece below and the film beneath it show both sides of the same trip.
